LOGISTICS - LOGT 3232
COMPANY PRESENTATION GUIDELINES

|
|
Overview
Your group will be required to prepare a 15
minute presentation with handouts. Your group may be asked to
summarize your findings in a 5 minute presentation. The
key is what are the important points
or differences of the third party logistics provider that is
assigned to your group. Your group will prepare a PowerPoint
presentation that can be posted on this website of the 15
minute version for use by the other class members.
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO TURN IN A WRITTEN PAPER!!!! THE
MAJORITY OF YOUR GRADE WILL COME FROM YOUR GROUP'S PRESENTATION
SLIDES THAT YOU TURN INTO THE PROFESSOR !!!!!
The goal of the project is to help you gain a
greater understanding of the types of organizations that make up
the logistics industry. Additionally, the project will help you
in three ways:
- The search process will help you develop
the research skills needed to effectively gather data for
assignments in other classes and job hunting activities.
- Report preparation and presentation will
help you enhance your written and oral communication skills,
computer proficiency, and teamwork skills (key competencies
that managers look for in new hires).
- The presentations will provide you with
information on a number of potential employers, including an
overview of their operations, career opportunities, and key
contact names.

Use charts, graphs, and other visual aids to
support your presentation.
Be creative. Organize your presentation,
practice your delivery, develop effective transitions, and plan
for questions.
Final Suggestions: Get started now -
this type of information requires some digging. Use LEXUS/NEXUS
and ABI Inform to find current articles on the company and the
industry. Use the Internet, industry guides and stock reports to
find key numeric data. Get copies of annual reports and other
materials from the company regarding their history, operations,
and strategy. Search the Career Services Library and call the
company's Human Resource department for career related
information. Ask professors, Career Services, and Henderson
Library personnel for help (early)!
