Exam 2 – Final Exam

Everything is fair game!!

The exam is a combination of multiple choice (around 40),  and short essays (to include problems).  It is neither easy, nor hard.

Below is a list of possible multiple choice and essay questions.  II will be in the office Monday and Tue.

Likely Topics for Essay Questions:

  1. What are Incoterms? How do they work?  Be able to apply Incoterms in a problem similar to the homework.
  2. What are the three primary payment methods?  What are the strengths and weakness?  What are the different types of a LOC?
  3. What are the current trends in Int'l Air Cargo?  Who are the key players?  How do you calculate prices?  Basic equipment types covered in class.
  4. What are the three types of ocean firms?  Why do we have three?  How do their operations differ?
  5. Understand basic terminology and operational factors in ocean transportation.  This includes all the vessel types.
  6. Be able to calculate a spread/fixture.
  7. What is the current trend in containerization? Why?
  8. Discuss the eight points about EU distribution (important reading).  How is this different from North American and Asian system and why?
  9. I would expect at least a question from the readings.
  10. Also, there will be questions from the presentations.  Example: discuss the current state of Open Skies with Japan or current state of Russian Poultry market.
